We shall limit ourselves here to a brief discussion of the work done at the Jicamarca Observatory connected either with: a) the geometry of the Magnetic Field or, b) with backscatter from enhanced fluctuations (non-thermal) produced either by turbulence or by plasma instabilities. Although equally important, work related to the usual ionospheric parameters obtained with incoherent scatter techniques, like electron densities, temperature, ion composition etc., is not treated here; since our main intention is to underline what is unique to the Jicamarca Observatory.
