Methods for the measurement of vertical ionospheric motions near the magnetic equator by incoherent scattering
Resumen
Methods are discussed for the measurement of motions of the ionosphere by means of Doppler shifts of incoherent scatter frequency spectra. It is found that velocities can be measured with an accuracy of better than a few meters per second with integration times of a few minutes, provided the antenna beam us directed approximately perpendicular to the geomagnetic field.
