Abstract
La Comisión Multisectorial ENFEN mantiene activo el estado de Alerta de El Niño, pues considera que principalmente en la costa norte y centro, se mantendrían las condiciones cálidas débiles en el océano al menos hasta el mes de mayo. Esto implica que, si bien debido a la estacionalidad las temperaturas descenderán durante el periodo de otoño, estas estarían ligeramente por encima de su promedio. Lo anterior está asociado al arribo de dos ondas Kelvin cálidas entre la segunda quincena de marzo y el mes de abril, al acoplamiento del océano y la atmósfera en el Pacífico ecuatorial central y occidental, así como a la continuación del debilitamiento de los vientos alisios del sureste a lo largo de la costa. Para lo que resta de marzo, continuarían las condiciones favorables para una mayor frecuencia de días lluviosos y muy lluviosos1, en las cuencas bajas y medias de esta región principalmente, respecto al patrón histórico.
