On the control of the F-region drift velocity by the E-region electric field: experimental evidence.==$Journal of Atmospheric and Terrestrial Physics, 31$==(6), 865-867. https://doi.org/10.1016/0021-9169(69)90167-6index-oti2018http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12816/1638Experimental evidence is presented which shows a good correlation between velocity variations of 1. (1) the vertical motions of the F-region electrons in the equatorial ionosphere, and 2. (2) the horizontal motions of electrons in the underlying E-region. This observation supports the theory that the E-region electric fields are projected into the F-region along the electrically equipotential magnetic field lines.application/pdfenginfo:eu-repo/semantics/restrictedAccessF RegionElectronsRegion EElectric fieldsElectric fieldsIonosphereOn the control of the F-region drift velocity by the E-region electric field: experimental evidenceinfo:eu-repo/semantics/articlehttp://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#1.05.01Journal of Atmospheric and Terrestrial Physicshttps://doi.org/10.1016/0021-9169(69)90167-6
