For nearly fifty years, the Jicamarca Radio Observatory (11.95°S, 76.87°W, 2°N dip latitude) near Lima, Peru, has measured ionospheric plasma drifts. Over the last ten years, measurements of plasma drift velocities have also been measured using radar observations of the equatorial 150 km altitude región (Kudeki and Fawcett, 1993; Chau and Woodman, 2004).es_ES
